Century Schoolbook is a serif typeface designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1919 at the request of Ginn & Co., a textbook publisher, which wanted an especially easy-to-read face for textbooks. This font is familiar to many in North America as being the typeface with which many first learned to read.
To me personally, learning how to read and write brings sweet memories of seeing letters and numbers as shapes of animals and objects. This inspired me to explore typography as shapes that make up fun and friendly characters.
